Elaine
Coyne
Elaine Coyne was fascinated with and imprinted by the vibrant colors of the
Statue of Liberty’s patina from her first visit at age four. She visited
many museums as a child, devouring every aspect of art. After college she
dove into creating her sculptured metal jewelry and started Elaine Coyne
Galleries.She has collected numerous awards and done museum commissions
since her start in 1964, including Best of Show at Cornell University, in
the 1970s, two time winner of the Chicago Choice Award, 2005, and in 2007
she was named Official Designer for the Exhibition for the Louvre Atlanta,
approved by the Louvre Paris. In 2006 her Roman Cameo Collection was
featured at the Fernbank Natural History Museum, Imperial Rome Exhibit.
There have been feature articles from 1984 to the present in the Atlanta
Journal Constitution, Orlando Sentinel, Houston Chronicle, Mademoiselle,
Women’s Wear Daily, and Giftware News. 2010.
Her jewelry has been featured in films and television shows as well, notably
“Night at the Museum” in 2006 and “Smallville” season 3.
Elaine Coyne continues to design new collectible jewelry of defined
design based on art history. She personally finishes much of her line, using
multileveled processes and a torch. It takes years for artisans to develop
the skills evident in her magnificent work.
