Kristy Goggio's Gallery

Kristy Goggio discusses her current body of work from the perspective of a lengthy artistic journey. “Images of birds have been steady in my work for most of my career. My birds have evolved through the years from once traditional to now an amalgamation of part bird, part human and part musical instrument.

I listen to birds intently with their many different songs, how they whistle and ping, chatter and “tic tic tic”, call and “cwash cwa cwa”. My songster birds are a metaphor of bird and musical instruments meant to bring to mind the song, the sounds, the textures your ear can play with when listening. Alerting your listening awareness, whether listening to the music of birds or listening to the music of instruments being played, opens an amazing audible world waiting to be heard.”

Kristy Goggio earned her B.A. at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and has been active professionally in the art world since 1991. She has earned many professional awards including first place in 2008 in the New York Art Expo Emerging Artist competition. River’s End Gallery is happy to represent her in southeastern Wisconsin’s art scene.
