Jewelry with metals, pearls, glass, and
gemstones
A Niche Award-winning artist, Nancy
Goodenough’s works in metals, pearls, glass and gemstones, bringing a sense
of design to create stunning pieces at affordable price points.
Nancy is best known for the glass she
creates that has depth with a sense of unexpected mystery. Nancy cuts and
grinds this glass with lapidary equipment in her studio in the redwoods on
the Russian River in California.
Design is key in Nancy's work. Nancy uses
pearls, glass, or gemstones as a focal point in her work, to enhance the
design of the jewelry. Creating an 'original' using traditional metal
techniques Nancy uses forging, fabrication, foldforming, etching, fusing,
reticulation, and granulation. Nancy's original work is cast in sterling
silver or bronze.
Nancy is a systems engineer and glass artist
... marketing professional and high school mathematics teacher ... right
brain, left brain. Some might suggest that these roles are contradictory.
Not so. Nancy strikes a delicate balance between the technical and the
magical, the practical and the joyful, the business and the art. All the
skills honed in my former careers - 20 years with IBM and 10 years before
that as a mathematics teacher - come together to run her business.
