Pat Mitchell's Gallery
Pat Mitchell received her BFA from the Peck School of the
Arts, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. While raising her family, she
kept her hand in the art world working as a manager for a photography studio
and as a controller for a Milwaukee art gallery. She began to seriously
pursue her work as a mosaic artist after her family was grown.
Pat’s work erupts out of life experience and everyday objects. By breaking
down a whole vista or subject into the small part of a mosaic, she recreates
and reorders the work according to her artistic vision. She takes those
things in life which might be taken for granted and brings them to the
forefront to be relished and enjoyed in their new form. In her current work,
she explores the revelation and concealing nature of ice in its many
permutations.
She has exhibited in juried shows in North Carolina and Ontario, Canada and
has been active in the Art Guild of Menomonee Falls where she has her home
and studio.
